[New York, NY, September 30, 2019]– Carbyne, a global leader in public safety communications, announced today that Bernard Hogan-Howe, former Commissioner of the London Metropolitan Police, will be joining Carbyne’s board of advisors. Lord Hogan-Howe brings to Carbyne an extensive security background, distinguished track record of leadership amongst Britain’s security services, and a deep understanding of the challenges of operating and modernizing today’s emergency services.

With a 38-year career in policing, Lord Hogan-Howe led London’s Metropolitan Police Service, one of the world’s largest police forces, from 2011-2017.  In this role he had oversight of nearly 50,000 people and an annual budget of £3.2B, leading all law enforcement within the Metropolitan Police District and ensuring an effective national response to the threat of terrorism throughout the United Kingdom.

“We are delighted to welcome Lord Hogan-Howe to our team, to further advance our vision for the future of public safety,” said Amir Elichai, CEO and Founder of Carbyne. “Carbyne is currently working on a number of large-scale deployments which involve many agencies and complex IT architecture.  With his vast experience in large cities, managing multi-billion dollar budgets, Lord Hogan-Howe’s insight will be invaluable to Carbyne’s growth.”

“I am excited to be joining a unique group of innovative people striving to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency services around the world and help save lives,” said Lord Bernard Hogan-Howe. “I have always been interested in the ways in which technology can make us safer, and I look forward to sharing my experience with Carbyne to bring next-generation public safety technology to emergency services agencies globally.”

Lord Hogan-Howe adds to an advisory board that includes other notable leaders such as former Secretary of US Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, and former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, as well as a number of other prominent industry names.

“Lord Hogan-Howe’s addition to the board will enable Carbyne to better understand the complex inner workings of security services in major metropolitan areas.  This will, in turn, help maximize the impact of our technology in all aspects of Public Safety,” said Tim Ellis, Carbyne’s Vice President of Business Development for the U.K. “I am looking forward to working with Lord Hogan-Howe as we roll out Carbyne’s life-saving technology to deliver more effective and efficient emergency services to citizens throughout the United Kingdom.”
