VoIP Engineer | Carbyne

Carbyne is looking for a VoIP Engineer to Architect and Build the world's first Cloud-Based Emergency Real-Time Communication Platform. 

 The challenge:

You will be responsible for Designing and Implementing Highly-Available, Elastic, Robust, Multi-Tenant and Self-Healing RTC Services. The platform will have to comply with the most stringent Security, Authentication and Authorization Standards in order ensure high SLA and guarantee 5 nines up-time.

You will work closely with Carbyne partners and act as the technical liaison between Engineering and the Business for all UC related activities.

What will your job look like?

  1. Working as part of RTC R&D team in order to design and deliver a Highly-Available 911 Infrastructure
  2. Implementing new 911 Capabilities for Carbyne Noval Emergency Communication Platform
  3. Design, develop and deploy microservices comprising Carbyne’s RTC platform based on open source infrastructure
  4. Install, maintain and contribute to open-source PBX projects and UC products.
  5. Create and maintain technical specs and design documents.
  6. Overall responsibility for executing UC deployments in alignment with customer requirements, solution specifications and Carbyne’s best practices.
  7. Interact with a variety of internal stakeholders: Carbyne’s Sales, Operations, CTO Office and Product Managers.

  1. Proven experience with VoIP architecture. Hands-On installation experience in deployment of open-source UC (Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk, Kazoo, etc.).
  2. Extensive knowledge and understanding of VoIP deployments and protocols like SIP, SDP, RTP and their troubleshooting. Understanding of video\audio codecs, packetization, encryption, and transport.
  3. 3+ years of experience in solutions deployment of open-source VoIP solutions.
  4. 5+ years of experience in Networking. Proven knowledge and experience in networking and full knowledge of the OSI model and deep understanding of 1-7 Network Layers.
  5. Good understanding of linux environments, including bash scripting.
  6. Hands on experience deployment on Private and Public network/security clouds (AWS).
  7. Problem solving attitude and attention to the details.
  8. Self-motivated, proactive team player with innovative ideas to generate state-of-the-art solutions
  9. Independent and self managed.
  10. "Can-do" attitude and Strong people skills
  11. English - fluent


  1. Industry certifications like CCIE, CCNP, CCNA.
  2. Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
