About the role

We're looking for a passionate product designer to join our expanding design team. By joining us, you'll be part of a mission of redefining and redesigning the way emergency centers are communicating with callers in their toughest moments.

In this role, you'll be part of an A-Z process, from ideation to fully delivered features and products that bring meaningful value, and that actually are a part of saving people’s lives. Our ideal candidate has a people-focused design mentality and is constantly looking to hone their design instinct through user feedback, whether through hands-on user research, or by designing options for an A/B test.

When applying for this role, please add your portfolio to your CV (a must).

Here’s what you’ll be working on:

  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams made up of engineers, product managers, data scientists, and more
  • Together with your cross-functional partners, you’ll set the vision for the user experience and create the space for others to collaborate
  • Help foster a shared understanding of the problem space by facilitating cross-functional workshops and group ideation sessions
  • Drive the design progress through obstacles by building consensus and making decisions – taking responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way
  • Take into account existing insights, technical constraints, business needs, and specific platform demands to produce data-informed solutions that consider problems from multiple angles
  • Evolve the design practices in the tribe by evangelizing, coaching and mentoring others
  • Provide teams with the methods, processes, and solutions needed to execute strategy

Requirements
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience as a product designer with live products online
  • A fantastic team player, communicator, and facilitator
  • A people-focused design mentality and a desire to design and build products/features that truly have a meaningful impact.
  • Experienced in conducting user research and usability testing, and turning the output into data that can drive product design decisions
  • Data-driven and use quantitative as well as qualitative data sources to inform your design decisions
  • A strong understanding of and experience in lean and agile UX processes, and are not afraid of suggesting new ways of working

What else we’re looking for:

We’re a mission-driven team with a strong set of values. We take them pretty seriously here at Carbyne, and want to make sure that anyone who joins our team takes them seriously, too. If you grabbed coffee with any of our team members, you would see that we:

Innovate. We think differently, and don’t lean on standard conventions.

Strive to be better. We’re always looking to improve. We define goals and measure ourselves against them regularly.

Take ownership. We own our actions, complete our missions, and hold ourselves accountable for both. We care deeply about the success of Carbyne, our customers, our partners, and each other.

Are customer-first. We focus on making sure our customers are successful, and we build trust and practice full transparency at all times.
