About the role

We're on the search for a driven, ambitious, and results-oriented Sales & Business Development Manager to join our dynamic and growing organization and help drive new business in the federal sector. You will be the face of the company, as you work to create and apply an effective sales strategy. In this role, you will drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will have a hunter mentality and be responsible for leading our efforts to capture business with departments and agencies of the U.S. Federal Government.


Here’s what you’ll be working on:

  • Conduct market research on new target audience and business vertical
  • Pitch new clients and conduct product demonstrations
  • Contact potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings
  • Pursue current marketing leads to establish new business
  • Research organizations and individuals to find new opportunities
  • Increase the value of current customers while attracting new ones
  • Find and develop new markets and improve sales
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Develop quotes and proposals for clients
  • Develop goals for the development team and business growth and ensure they are met
  • Train personnel and help team members develop their skills


Requirements
  • You will have 5-10+ years of experience selling enterprise software to the US Federal Government (Civilian and/or DOD/Intel)
  • Very comfortable and knowledgeable of Civilian Agencies and line of business
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated successful Public Safety industry sales and/or consulting, with focus on software, services, platform integration and/or network services (SaaS and cloud experience a plus)
  • Existing and proven relationships with senior decision-makers within your designated territory
  • Demonstrated understanding of PSAP and stakeholder agency technology and service requirements (NG9-1-1)
  • Proven experience in managing/owning territory for sales and/or consulting engagements
  • Experience in creating and executing long-term sales plans
  • Ability to clearly and directly articulate complex solution offerings
  • Strong technical orientation 
  • Self-motivated with a can-do approach - “create the solution” philosophy
  • Strong attention to detail, creative, open-minded, focused, and highly collaborative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel to customers as needed (up to 70% of the time)
